Molde hosts Ferencvaros

Molde hosts Ferencvaros at the Aker Stadion in a match from the playoffs of the Champions League. Each one of these two teams will try to take a good result before the second leg on Hungarian soil. Let’s preview it in our soccer predictions for this week.

The Norwegian champion Molde already eliminated three opponents during this season’s Champions League qualifiers. In the third round they had to face Azerbaijan’s Qarabag and it was not easy. The game in Larnaka ended with a 0-0 draw and it all came to penalties. Molde scored one more and reached the playoffs.

Molde’s manager Erling Moe admitted it was not easy for his team to win against Qarabag, but this performance could actually give his team a lot of confidence.

In the Norwegian Eliteserien Molde are dissapointing with their performance. At this moment they are second in the league with 34 points which leaves them 16 points behind the leader Bodo / Glimt. In their last five matches in the Eliteserien Molde suffered four defeats – that’s not how a champion should perform.

Ferencvaros also managed to win against three different opponents since the beginning of the Champions League qualifiers. In the second round they surprisingly beat Celtic, while in the third round they once again surprised everybody with a win over Dinamo Zagreb.

For most pundits Ferencvaros were underdogs against the Croatian team, but they managed to achieve a 2-1 win at the Groupama Arena in Budapest. Myrto Uzuni scored himself an own goal, but he also scored the decivise second goal for the hosts. Before him Gergo Lovrencsics have opened the score for the Hungarians.

These are our soccer predictions for this week for the Champions League playoffs game between Molde and Ferencvaros on Wednesday. The Hungarians made two major surprises in the qualifiers so far, but now they have one final step between them and the Champions League. Can they make this final step?
