Werder hosts Borussia M’gladbach
We are heading to the Weserstadion in Bremen where Werder hosts Borussia M’gladbach in a match from the 28th round of the Bundesliga. We are going to preview this match as a part of our soccer predictions for this week.
On Saturday Werder Bremen finally took a breath of fresh air. The club is still 17th in the relegation zone, but they finally won again. Werder paid a visit to Freiburg and had enough luck to go home with a 1-0 win. It was Leonardo Bittencourt who scored the winning goal in the 19th minute after an assist from Davy Klaassen.
Werder Bremen really needed this result. How we said, they are still in the relegation zone, but they are now just two points behind the 16th Fortuna Dusseldorf and the relegation playoff spot. This gives the club new hopes for survival.
On Tuesday Werder will aim to record their 6th win in the league, but they can’t use some injured players in this game. The veteran striker Claudio Pizarro, Niclas Fullkrug, Kevin Mohwald and Ludwig Augustinsson are unavaliable for selection.
Borussia M’gladbach will try to forget what happened on Saturday and start winning again. The team had an unsuccessful home game against Bayer Leverkusen, which ended with a 1-3 win for the visitors. The young French striker Marcus Thuram scored for M’gladbach, but this goal was not enough for the hosts.
The manager Marco Rose could make some changes in his line-up. Against Leverkusen he used Lars Stindl, Laszlo Benes and Ozcar Wendt from the bench, so let’s see what he’s going to decide for the match on Tuesday.
In our soccer predictions for this week we believe that Werder Bremen are going to be inspired after their win, but against Borussia M’gladbach it’s going to be difficult for them. Despite of losing on Saturday, M’gladbach remain the better team. Let’s see.
