Real Madrid – Sevilla
Just few days after being eliminated from the Champions League, Real Madrid will try to bounce back against Sevilla in La Liga. This is a key fixture as Madrid are still locked in the title race in Spain. Let’s preview it in our soccer predictions for this week.
Zinedine Zidane’s team suffered a huge disappointment after a poor performance against Chelsea in London. The Spanish giants hoped to reach their 4th Champions League final under the management of Zidane, but they got totally outperformed by Thomas Tuchel’s Chelsea.
Eden Hazard was the player who got most of the criticism after the game in London. The Belgian star continues to be a shadow of himself since his move to Madrid. Hazard played almost 90 minutes against his former club, but did nothing on the pitch. Most likely Zidane will replace him in the starting eleven with Marco Asensio, Federico Valverde and Rodrygo being options to start. At the same time Raphael Varane continues to recover from an injury so most likely Eder Militao will replace him again in the team.
Sevilla are an interesting case because on theory they have chances to win the title, too. The Andalusians are 4th in the table with 70 points which puts them 6 points behind the leader Atletico Madrid. Even if they don’t win the title it won’t be a tragedy, though – they already secured their place in Top 4 and the Champions League for the next season.
Julen Lopetegui’s team failed in their last game in the league. Sevilla faced Athletic Bilbao at home at the Ramon Sanchez Pizjuan, but lost it with a late goal from the visitors.
That’s the soccer predictions for this week for the La Liga clash between Real Madrid and Sevilla at the Estadio Alfredo Di Stefano in the capital. Can Real Madrid make a step towards the title? We shall see.
